SIGN INSIDE

The visual signs we associate ourselves with, whether clothes, furniture, electronic devices, art objects, are above anything else proposals made by designers. We all choose from the existing offer, not from all possible alternatives.

The exhibition Sign Inside gathers two artists, professors at the National University of Arts Bucharest, Ovidiu Ionescu, from the Ceramics Department and Alexandru M?rginean, from the Fashion Design Department, which came together in a common project, under the aegis of the idea of presence marked by absence. The Contemp Gallery space is ritually transformed in a (post)modernist dressing room, where experimental-avangarde women clothes are put in relation with a realist, full length nude, painting and avatar at the same time. In a Bauhaus environment, the feminine dominant principle finds a masculine correspondent in the ceramic decorations that make from the interior space a true installation with Pop Art accents.

CONTEMP GALLERY is a contemporary art gallery opened in the heart of the old center of Bucharest, close to the beautiful Ci?migiu garden. The aim of the CONTEMP Gallery is to expose viable works of art, proposed to the public as images, tangible objects and investments.
